Santa Clarita Mayor Laurene Weste and the Santa Clarita City Council cordially invite the community to meet the city's new Assistant Fire Chief Bill Niccum at a special open house at City Hall on Wednesday, Sept. 22 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Free and open to the public, the open house will be held in the Century Room on the first floor City Hall at 23920 Valencia Blvd., Valencia 91355.

Niccum has strong ties to Santa Clarita, having attended Saugus Elementary, Hart High School and College of the Canyons.

He purchased his first home in Newhall and is pleased return to work in Santa Clarita as the assistant fire chief.

"It is a pleasure to work in Santa Clarita and to serve with the many dedicated men and women of the local fire stations," Niccum said. "I am looking forward to serving this community as the assistant fire chief."

The meet and greet open house is an opportunity for the community to meet Assistant Chief Niccum.

There will be information and displays about fire safety programs, including the "Ready! Set! Go!" program, which details important steps families can take to protect themselves in the event of a fire.
