Twilight at Descanso Gardens is a time when shadows deepen, animals become more active, familiar objects begin to change form and color gradually gives way to black and white.

Visitors can enjoy l'heure bleue-the blue hour as the French call it - every Thursday evening throughout the month of August when Descanso remains open until 8 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and picnics and get some much needed garden therapy after a long day.
J
ennifer Robin, Michael Compania and Riner Scivally will play soothing jazz on the Main Lawn (Aug. 21 and 28) and the Enchanted Railroad will be running ($3 per person). Special Twilight Walk maps are available at the Visitor's Center that lead guests to the most interesting places to see.

Half-price admission begins at 5 p.m., adults: $4; seniors and students: $3; children 5-12: $1.50; Descanso Gardens members and children under 5, free.
