The deadline to submit nomination papers to run for local nonpartisan offices in the Nov. 4 General Election is 5 p.m. today.

Three seats on the Castaic Lake Water Agency Board of Directors - those held by Bill Cooper, Jerry Gladbach and Bill Pecsi - will be expiring in November, according to the Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk's office.

An additional at-large seat that represents the Santa Clarita Water Division will become an elected seat.

R.J. Kelly is currently holding that seat, but has filed for the Division 1 seat held by Cooper, county records show.

The at-large seat has been an appointed seat, but is now an elected seat as a result of CLWA's acquisition of the Santa Clarita Water Division.

Today is also the deadline for independent candidates to file nomination papers for the General Election.
