On Oct. 5, a public hearing will be conducted by the city of Santa Clarita Planning Commission to introduce the One Valley One Vision (OVOV) General Plan and the Draft Program Environmental Impact Report.

The meeting will take place at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, on the first floor of Santa Clarita City Hall, located at 23920 Valencia Blvd., Valencia 91355.

The OVOV Draft General Plan sets out a long-range vision and comprehensive policy framework for how the City should grow and develop, provide public services, and maintain the qualities that define Santa Clarita over the next 20 years and beyond.

OVOV establishes a clear set of development guidelines for citizens, developers, neighboring jurisdictions and agencies, and provides the community with an opportunity to participate in the planning process.

"The One Valley One Vision draft General Plan contains hundreds of goals and policies that address many quality of life issues for the community," Santa Clarita Mayor Laurene Weste said. "The public hearing process affords city residents and business owners an ideal opportunity to contribute to a blueprint for the city of Santa Clarita."

Beginning later this month, there will be a three-month public review and comment period with multiple public hearings during that time."

OVOV is a joint effort between the city of Santa Clarita, the county of Los Angeles and Santa Clarita Valley residents and businesses to create a single vision and guidelines for the future growth of the SCV and the preservation of natural resources.
