Remember our values

Do you give added value to the lives of others? What should others expect from me, and what should I expect of myself?

At age 75, have I learned from the past? Am I more thoughtful of my actions, words and speech? Do I maintain the values that were passed down to me through generation after generation?

Do I read and understand current events? Am I thoughtful in actions, word and deeds? Do I honor those who gave their lives so that I could receive the blessings this country offers?

Today, I struggle through a generation when some have acquired a new set of values, actions, words and speech. Views on marriage, abortion, honesty, families, deportment, vulgarity, young innocence, sexual behavior, good manners and courtesy and wants versus needs, plus other things I can't think of right now.

I know we are in a constant state of change, but how we are changing should concern each of us. Are there enough people out there who understand how far off track we have become?

Here is a question all moms and dads should ask themselves: Do I want my children to instill in their children the same values that I am teaching them today?

I might add that if today's children take no pride in this amazing country and its Constitution, our future generation, in time, may lose the blessings and sovereignty our forefathers prepared for us.

Ask yourself if your thoughts, words and deeds honor those who died to save this country for you and those generations that follow.
