Authorities are asking the public for help in finding a suspect who tried to sexually assault a 14-year-old Saugus girl at a park in Santa Clarita.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s spokesperson Michael Parker says the attack happened Saturday at Central Park in Saugus.

The teen tells investigators she was walking to meet friends when a man grabbed her and pushed her up against the tree, trying to kiss her.

The girl says she then heard someone approaching, and the man suddenly let her go and ran off.

The suspect is described only as a male Hispanic, between 5 feet 5 inches and 5 feet 8 inches in height, wearing all black with a black beanie.

The Santa Clarita Sheriff’s Station is seeking public assistance from anyone who may have seen this man at (661) 255-1121.

The victim located her friends and immediately called home.  Deputies were notified once the victim was safe at home.
