The College of the Canyons Art Gallery will feature the work of three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning political cartoonist Paul Conrad from Aug. 31 through Sept. 30.

A special reception will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Aug. 31 in the COC Art Gallery.

All gallery exhibits and events are open to the public and free.

Conrad, 87, worked at the Los Angeles Times from 1964 to 1993, finishing his career there as chief editorial cartoonist.

Conrad, who has earned three Pulitzer Prizes, says his favorite recognition was being featured on Richard Nixon’s enemies list. The exhibition, titled “I, Con: The Brilliant Work of Paul Conrad,” will feature more than 50 of Conrad’s drawings.

“I feel that this exhibition will be a real treat for our community. Of all the editorial cartoonists working today, no one has reached the status of Paul Conrad,” said Larry Hurst, COC art gallery director, in a statement.

The COC Art Gallery is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. from Monday through Thursday. For more information, call (661) 362-3612 or visit www.canyons.edu/artgallery.
