Two men who apparently clubbed a woman in her Canyon Country home on Friday night were still at large Tuesday afternoon.

The woman was reportedly attacked shortly after 8:30 p.m. Friday, at her house in a gated community in the 16000 block of Vista Point Lane near Sand Canyon Road.

Sheriff's Sgt. Darren Harris said the two suspects reportedly knocked on the door and the woman let them in. One of the men reportedly wore a tan short-sleeved shirt with green shoulder patches, resembling a law enforcement uniform. Harris said that the man wearing the tan shirt apparently had a blunt object, similar to a baton, which he used to strike the woman in the head almost immediately after she opened the door.

The woman, whose identity was being withheld, was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital to be treated for her injuries, Harris added.

He also believes Friday's crime was not a random event.

"This is possibly connected to a related case," Harris said. "These two guys just are not going from door-to-door."

One of the assailants was described as standing about 6 feet tall with short, black hair; the other was described as 5 feet 7 inches tall with black hair. Both were Hispanic men, according to the victim.

Anyone with information about the attack can call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station at 661-255-1121.
