Gay marriage is not OK

In response to David Warburton’s letter, “Bravo to Judge Walker” (Aug. 8): I noticed you thanked God for Judge Vaughn Walker’s decision on gay marriage. However, in His word, God is very clear about the establishment of marriage. So, I am confused about why you would be thanking God for this. God created man and woman to be partners to His glory.

As far as second-class citizens, I beg to differ. I know from work experience that they are carefully treated, even so far as special accommodations (diversity is well-taught in the working world). Also, insurance is made available to them; they have “domestic- partner rights.”

Certainly, I don’t believe in mistreating anyone, but at the same time, I don’t want gay marriage to be considered OK. David, you quote rights by Thomas Jefferson “endowed by our Creator.” Who do you think our Creator is? Do you support “In God we Trust,” which is written on so many of our official buildings, as well?

Just as you are supportive and pleased by this decision, there are many of us who are dismayed and saddened.
