Odd news
Dollars, not doughnuts
FAYETTEVILLE, North Carolina (AP) — A customer at a North Carolina Krispy Kreme restaurant got something even sweeter than a dozen hot glazed: $5,000 in cash.

Multiple media outlets report that a clerk at a Krispy Kreme in Fayetteville accidentally handed over a box of doughnuts that also contained the store’s cash receipts on Friday.

Police said before taking the money to be deposited, a manager put the cash in a doughnut box as a safeguard against theft.

Fayetteville Police Sgt. Dan Grubb says the clerk didn’t know about the routine, and accidentally handed the wrong box to a customer at the drive-thru window.

Grubb says that as of Monday, no one has come forward to return the money.

Fargo man sentenced in feces assault on police

FARGO, North Dakota (AP) — A Fargo man who tried to kick his own feces at police officers who responded to a party at his home was sentenced to serve a year in jail. Dennis Fike, 66. also must complete alcohol treatment or he might face another year in jail.

Fike was accused of defecating on a rug and attempting to kick feces at the officers last Aug. 28. His attorney argued that a handcuffed Fike had asked to use the bathroom and been denied.

Fike was convicted in June of attempting to contact a law enforcement official by bodily fluids or excrement and preventing arrest.

Police: Woman used diaper in traffic beef
CONNELLSVILLE, Pennsylvania (AP) — State police said a woman wiped a dirty diaper on the window of another woman’s vehicle during a dispute in a traffic jam as both were leaving the Fayette County Fair. Jessica Hollis, 23, of Mount Pleasant, has been charged with harassment in the incident which state police in Uniontown said happened about 10:50 p.m. on Saturday.

Police said Hollis smeared the diaper on the rear window of a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Melanie Campbell.
