Local cat veterinarian a hero

Not very often are do we acknowledge heroes. Tracy McFarland is one in my book.

You see, on July 15, my cat of 12 years passed away. His name was Murphy.

This letter is not only to help in the healing process after losing Murphy, but to say thank you to this wonderful doctor and her staff at "The Cat Doctor."

Every now and then I believe God puts people in our lives for a reason. I have been going to Dr. Tracy for quite some time for both of my cats, Max and Murphy, including their annual checkups, shots and so on.

Then Murphy became ill. We did everything as a team to make him better. And he was great! But finally the illness took over. Murphy fought the good fight, but he couldn't go on anymore.

Dr. Tracy was so kind and sympathetic. It was as if Murphy were her own. I believe she loved Murphy as we did. She even made reference that he would be in her memoirs.

I'm compelled to tell her what that means to me. Words are not enough.

Murphy's body left us that late afternoon, but his soul and spirit live on in our hearts.

To Dr. Tracy and the staff at "The Cat Doctor," thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You have made a difference.
