The inaugural SCV Improv Festival will be staged Sept. 20 through Sept. 26 at The SCV Space in Saugus.

"We're scheduled for 17 workshops and 17 shows," said Mike Marsalisi, one of the organizers. "The festival will feature local improv comedy teams as well as teams from our neighboring cities. We are going to have a food truck and one amazing time."

Marsalisi said the group is still accepting applications for improv teams to perform at the festival. There is a $20 application fee that goes to pay for printing costs.

"The festival workshops will be for the improv beginner to the seasoned veteran, ages 14 and older," Marsalisi said. "Spaces for the workshops will be limited and they are expected to be announced around the last week of August, along with our talent lineup."

Marsalisi said ticket prices will be determined and announced soon. "We will offer a student discount as well as festival passes," he said.
