The monthly Art Walk in Old Town Newhall is Thursday, Aug. 5 between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The event is growing little by little, and each month a few new things are added, according to Jeff Barber, the city's Arts & Entertainment coordinator.

"Make sure to bring your children and friends. The word needs to get out about the Art Walk. There is something to do for all age groups," Barber said.

"There is a bunch to see, hear, and do. Start out with visiting the Farmer's Market on Main Street, and then make your way to the various businesses along Main that are featuring art," he said.

"Visit the participating shops and theaters and enjoy free light refreshments. Also, enjoy all of the street performers playing all types of music for your listening pleasure," Barber said.

"Complete the evening with dinner at the El Trocadero Mesquite Steakhouse with good food and hospitality. Special Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Margarita...$3," he said.

"Pass the word on about the art, the Farmer's Market, and the music. We want this thing to build. It will build through word of mouth. It is important that tell at least one friend about Art Walk. Tell all of your co-workers, too," Barber said.

Art venues this Thursday night include:
Dr. Rocio Jones, D.D.S.
Canyon Theatre Guild
OutWest
Cookbooks Plus
Repertory East
Jazmin's Bakery
Newhall Bicycle Co.
