The bad news - the Vikings allowed six runs in the first inning, in a 7-1 loss at Chatsworth High.
Valencia was eliminated in Game 3 of the best-of-three series. Chatsworth advanced to Tuesday's semifinal game.
The Vikings were the No. 7 seed out of the North Division with a 7-14 record in the regular season. Chatsworth was the No. 1 seed (20-1).
"For us to play three very competitive games was real good for us," Valencia head coach Jared Snyder said. "We played the best team we possibly could. We took them to three games."
Scotland McKenzie struggled and could not get out of the bottom of the first inning. He allowed five runs on four hits and walked four.
Justin Hanks came on and pitched solid in relief, allowing one run and three hits in 4 1/3 innings.
Valencia, whose lone run was a home run hit by Quincy Quintero in the top of the third inning, stranded six runners in scoring position.
At 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Chatsworth will play in a semifinal game against South Division No. 2 seed Hart High at Brookside Park in Pasadena.
"They're a quality program," Hart head coach Jim Ozella said. "They'll basically give us quite a challenge."
Garrett Gooding will pitch in Tuesday's semifinal.
