Undisclosed location to be somewhere in unincorporated SCV

The California Highway Patrol's Newhall Area Office will conduct a sobriety checkpoint in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles County starting at 8:30 p.m. Friday, July 23 and ending at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, July 24.

The location will be announced just prior to the operation.

Though arrests do not rise dramatically, checkpoints tend to reduce the number of people driving under the influence, said the CHP in a written statement. As long as traffic volume is not too heavy, all vehicles will be checked.
