We can make our own choices

I have been noticing that a segment of this country believes that what you eat and drink is the business of the government.
They have determined that if you eat or drink things that are not as healthy as others, you will eventually need special health care that will be paid for by the taxpayer.

Does anyone see our freedoms escaping us little by little? With the new government-controlled health care program, we allow our elected officials to control our health.

As we turn to the government to take care of us, we are expected to understand why they will now control our eating and drinking choices. It has been creeping up on us little by little, hoping that we will not look upon these regulations as a restriction of our freedoms but as the duty of our government to keep us healthy.

Give us the information, and we will make our choices based on that information.

I guess we will never be able to go back to when we had the freedom to make our own life choices. As the new generation accepts these restrictions as being a good thing, our government will by necessity need to grow and grow and grow. We will eventually become nothing but tax producers to support our elected and unelected officials. We will end up with more government workers than those in the private sector.

When our president asked me if I wanted to go back to the way things were, I honestly have to say “yes” — and the sooner the better!
