Sheriff's detectives are turning to the public for help identifying a man wanted for questioning about two cases of forgery.
On June 6 between 5:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., the man - captured on a surveillance video - went into Canyon Market and H & J Liquor Store and in two separate instances allegedly passed forged checks using fake or forged identification, according to a Friday sheriff's report.
The man in question was described as a Hispanic male between 25-30 years old, about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and 180 pounds, with dark hair, a mustache and short goatee, and bushy eyebrows. He was reportedly wearing a dark brown collared shirt with white stripes.
The investigation is ongoing, and at this point the man is wanted only for questioning, according to the report.
Anyone with information can contact sheriff's Sgt. Darren Harris at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station at (661) 799-5814.
