Show respect for emergency vehicles

Recently, I have noticed a lot of refusals to stop, pull over or even slow down when emergency vehicles are passing with sirens on and lights flashing. It seems to me that people no longer care about anything but trying to get where they’re going, which is (half the time) right up to the next red light.

I know as well as these people should that it is illegal to not pull over to the right, but for one, they apparently don’t care, and two, if emergency vehicles are in a hurry to save someone in danger, do they really have the time to make sure someone is punished for this?

I’m wondering if you could post something about this in the paper, so people can be reminded of the law and respect for those needing immediate help — maybe a need to be reminded about the last time they or someone they love was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance? Would they appreciate the disrespect being given to help that is on the way? Thank you.
