Emergency vehicles have the right-of-way

I am appalled at the stupidity of drivers on the road. The vehicle code requires that when an emergency vehicle comes upon your car with sirens and/or lights flashing, to PULL TO THE RIGHT!

Instead, most must be ignorant as they just sit there blocking the traffic.

I wonder how the person blocking the emergency vehicle would feel if that ambulance and/or paramedic truck was on the way to help one of their family members, only to have them late and not be able to help.

I know, because my father passed a couple of years back, and I was informed that traffic held up the paramedics.

I have seen two to three sheriff’s cars following the paramedics; one should stay back and ticket those drivers not doing as required.

The sheriff’s and emergency vehicles have cameras on the front; they should be able to take pictures of the plates of those lazy drivers and send them a ticket.

Make the fines heavy, and maybe those drivers might learn.

My idea is: the first ticket fine should be $300; the second ticket fine should be $1,000. If they wind up with a third ticket, take their license away for a year. Maybe they would learn.

I know that in Texas, drivers even pull over for funerals. Wake up, people, it could be your dad you caused injury or death (to) because you did not move out of the way.
