A California Highway Patrol officer and an Explorer Scout received minor injuries after their patrol car flipped near Highway 14 in Canyon Country on Monday.

CHP Officer Terrence Roach and the Explorer Scout, whose name was not released, were responding to a call about 4:10 p.m. when the car flipped on Placerita Canyon Road near Placerita Park, said CHP Sgt. Chris Margaris.

Roach and the scout were transported to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital where they were treated for minor cuts and abrasions, said CHP Sgt. Robert Lund.

The name of the Explorer Scout was not released because it was unclear if he was juvenile, according to Lund.
