Santa Clarita Valley sheriff’s officials are investigating a Canyon Country stabbing that sent a victim to the hospital with chest injuries, Lt. Mark Hershey said Saturday.
Deputies first responded to call about a fight at about 11 p.m. Friday on the 19000 block of Wellhaven Street, Hershey said.
“When (the deputies) got there they found the stabbing victim and set up a containment,” he said. “They were not able to find the suspect.”
The stabber used a 4-inch blade to attack the victim, Hershey said. Authorities believe the stabbing was gang-related, Hershey said, but did not have a description of the suspect on Saturday.
An ambulance took the victim to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital. The injuries were not life-threatening, Hershey said.
