Friendly Valley service
Who: The Friendly Valley Community Church (United Methodist)
What: Pastor Emeritus Leon Strand will present “St. Paul’s Riddle.” Holy Communion will be served.  Fellowship and coffee will follow the service.  All are welcome.

Fourth celebration and free open house
Who: New Life in His Presence Church
What: Open house and Fourth of July celebration with free hot dogs and drinks, a jazz band, salsa dancing, crafts and raffle for plasma screen television, iPod and movie tickets. The church will pass out free glow-in-the-dark necklaces.
When: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, raffle at 2 p.m.

The Last Appeal
Who: Play hosted at New Life in His Presence Church
What: Presenting full-length play “The Last Appeal: Men on Death Row.” Visit The Last Appeal presents the story of Titus Freeman, who finds himself sentenced to death row after a fatal altercation with a local store owner, Ivan Parks, the husband of famous pianist Trisha Parks. The stories of five inmates awaiting execution convey struggle, forgiveness, redemption and faith.
When: 8 p.m. July 9, 5 and 8 p.m. July 10 and 6 p.m. July 11

‘A Cosmic Adventure’

Who: Santa Clarita United Methodist Church
What: “A Cosmic Adventure Praising God” Vacation Bible School. The program includes classes for children 3 years old through the fifth grade. Register as soon as possible at the education table after service or at the church office. Cost is $30. Scholarships are available for families unable to afford the donation. Volunteers are needed. Youth sixth grade and above can sign up to help.
When: Vacation Bible School will be 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. July 19 to 23

Decoding life’s mystery
Who: Acton Faith Bible Church
What: Vacation Bible School — The Egypt File Decoding the Mystery of Life. Free to all, kindergarten through eighth grade.
