The annual Rockin' Summer Nights concert series came in at full force Tuesday night as country singer Kellie Coffey and American Idol finalist Ace Young took the stage at the Westfield Valencia Town Center.
The concert series typically draws a crowd of about 1,200 at each concert and will run through mid August.
Tuesday's concert featured Coffey, who was awarded the Academy of Country Music's Top New Female Vocalist Award in 2003. Also in the spotlight Tuesday was Ace Young who was a finalist from American Idol's Season 5 and has a new solo album out.
The concerts provide good entertainment for all ages, said Alexandra DeCicco, the Town Center's marketing director.
"This is a great family-oriented community, so we want to cater to local families," she said. "It's a great way to spend a summer evening."
Next week, the Boogie Knights will roll into town "for those who remember the 70s and those who appreciate it," DeCicco said.
The concert series runs every Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. through Aug. 12.
