Following up what many considered one of Saugus' best seasons ever in 2008-2009, this past year was more of the same on Centurion Way.

A fourth consecutive state championship in girls cross country? Check. Another dominating year for Saugus girls track and field? Check. Another successful season for girls soccer? Check.

Another solid season for football? Not so fast.

After its first-ever Foothill League title in 2008, Saugus football had forgettable campaign in 2009.

Even though Saugus' perennially successful teams stole most of the headlines, the Cents were not without impressive individual performances in other sports.

Baseball's Nick Lombardi batted .430 in 2010 and will be a key returner for the Cents in his senior season. Another junior, Ashley Butera, led the softball team in batting average, RBIs and home runs. Although they had inconsistent seasons, sophomore hitters Matt Coleman and Colby Wilson look like potentially budding forces in the future for boys volleyball.

So will these other programs break out in 2010-11? Or will it be more of the same?
