Hart, Valencia Among 'America's Best High Schools'
Hart and Valencia high schools are among the 1600 high schools across the country to be saluted by Newsweek Magazine as "America's Best High Schools" this year.

The criteria for nomination is based on the percentage of students who take and pass college-level Advanced Placement classes, which allow students to earn college credit while still in high school.

More than 550 Hart High students took just over 1,000 AP classes last year, with a 75 percent pass rate, earning their school the number 619 spot on this year's list--up 329 places from last year. Valencia is No. 1316.
