The city of Santa Clarita and the Santa Clarita Arts Commission seek artist submissions to develop an exhibition celebrating the 50th "birthday" of Bubble Wrap. The postmark deadline for application materials is extended to August 6.

Artists will submit artwork using Bubble Wrap as a component of an art piece. At least 20 pieces will be selected for inclusion in the exhibit.

"Bubble-licious: All Bubbles Are Not Created Equal" is an Art in Public Places program by the city of Santa Clarita. All artist submissions will be reviewed and selected by the Arts Commission Public Art Sub Committee. The selected works will be exhibited in the Town Center Art Space, which is located at the Westfield Valencia Town Center, from September 10 to January 5, 2011.

The Public Art Sub Committee will make selections August 10 and artists must deliver their completed artwork to City Hall by August 20. Artists interested in being considered should submit a full color photocopy, photograph, or CD of the artwork(s) with dimensions, material(s) used, approximate weight, and title. A self-addressed stamped envelope must be included for the return of application materials.
