Detectives arrested an 18-year-old Canyon Country woman this week suspected of burglarizing several homes in her neighborhood and around town, and authorities said Wednesday they are looking for others who may have been involved in the thefts.

Myesha Herndon was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail, according to a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station report.

“Detectives do not believe she acted alone, and additional arrests are likely in the coming days,” the report said.

On Wednesday afternoon, no other arrests related to the case were reported.

Detectives had been investigating an increasing number of burglaries near Isabella Parkway in Canyon Country since March.

That month saw one burglary, with three each in April and May and seven so far this month, the report said.

Most of the burglaries targeted homes and vehicles with doors left unlocked. Two of the burglaries occurred while the residents were home but in another room.

Deputies served search warrants at two addresses in the area on Tuesday and uncovered a cache of iPhones and iPods, cameras, laptop computers and other apparently stolen valuables, the report said.

Most of the evidence has been linked back to its former owners, who have been contacted, the report said.

Anyone with information may contact the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station at (661) 255-1121.
