To help connect job seekers to employment, the Santa Clarita WorkSource Center is hosting a Job Fair on Friday, June 11, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

The center will host a Bank of America Recruitment that same day at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

The events will be held at the Santa Clarita WorkSource Center, located on the second floor of the Dr. Dianne G. Van Hook University Center at College of the Canyons.

Bank of America is currently looking for part-time call center representatives. Qualified candidates should possess excellent verbal communication skills, adaptability to change, plus good computer skills and attendance. Candidates should also be able to work in a fast-paced, high volume environment.

Additional local employers will be on site during the job fair to recruit for various opportunities in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive at the event dressed for an interview and ready to apply with resumes in hand.

"The city of Santa Clarita's unemployment rate continues to be significantly lower than the surrounding regions at 7.6 percent, but we want to see that number decrease," Mayor Laurene Weste said. "The WorkSource Center's upcoming Job Fair provides a solid opportunity for local job seekers to place their name in the running for excellent part-time or full-time positions."

The Santa Clarita WorkSource Center is located at College of the Canyons' University Center, 26455 Rockwell Canyon Road, Suite 250, Valencia 91355.
