Do fireworks really damage air quality?
Signal Staff
The Signal
I found it quite perplexing that in Parimal Rohit's article ("SCV: Where you can see the air you breathe," July 8), neither he nor the South Coast Air Quality Management District official mentioned the recent fires as a possible cause for the poor air quality.
However, they did mention fireworks as a cause. I find it hard to believe that enough fireworks were discharged in the air to affect the air quality. I do believe that nearby fires could.
