Sheriff’s deputies arrested three men and a woman on drug-related charges in Newhall, officials announced Wednesday.

The arrest was made after deputies made a routine traffic stop early Tuesday morning near Second and Arch streets.

During the traffic stop, deputies performed a background check of the vehicle’s occupants, only to discover that three of them were on probation and one was on felony parole.

During an investigation of the vehicle, deputies reportedly found methamphetamine, marijuana, counterfeit currency, a significant amount of money and items commonly used in the sale and distribution of narcotics.

The suspects’ names were not released Wednesday. The 25-year-old woman is from Saugus, while two of the men, ages 25 and 42, are from Newhall. A 28-year-old man arrested is from Valley Center.

The quartet faces potential felony charges of possession of a controlled substance for sale, in addition to misdemeanor charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Three of the suspects are being held in lieu of $15,000 bail each; one suspect posted bond and was released.

The suspects’ names may be released after an additional investigation is conducted by the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Narcotics Bureau.
