When I was in 1st grade, reading was hard. My teachers and my 6th grade buddy, Michael, gave me extra help. I worked really hard and learned all 200 sight words to get into the "200 Club" at my school.
Then I wanted to read the first Harry Potter book "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone." Everyone, except my mom and my teacher Ms. Honiwell, told me that I couldn't read it at all. They said it was too hard and too long.
I kept reading because it was interesting and I like the wizards. I knew it would take me on a big adventure. I wanted to prove everyone wrong who said I couldn't read it all.
I now like reading and I like Harry Potter, and I think it may change my life.

My favorite book is "The Deadly Dungeon" because it is a mystery. The author is Ron Roy, and the illustrator is John Steven Gurney. The three main characters are Dink, Josh and Ruth Rose, and they are close friends.

Dink, Josh, and Ruth Rose get to visit a castle owned by Wallace Willis. The castle's name is Moose Manor. Then they discover a dungeon under the castle. The dungeon is dark, deadly, wet and slimy. The dungeon is filled with cages of parrots. This is where the mystery begins, trying to solve who owns these parrots.

I enjoyed reading this mystery, and the story is filled with fantasy, action, and adventure.

The best books I have read are the one in the Harry Potter series. These books are inspirational and they fill my head with such creativity sometimes. When I want to do something, I get a Harry Potter book and start reading. J.K. Rowling is an inspiration. When I want to write a book I am going to think about any Harry Potter book. I soak it all in. Books are your friends, your buddies. So if I ever get bored, I will pick up any Harry Potter book that is in sight. I have never judged a book by its cover nor will I ever.

"Baby Mouse" is the best book I've ever read because it is very funny and because it has pretty pages. Some pages are happy, sad or exciting and I love these books. They are so funny. And it is funny because she is a mouse. And because they talk. And you want to know why I love them? Because they're the best books ever. And because they're cool. You want to know why I love them? Because there are funny pages and sad pages. Every page is so colorful and neat. And because they're nice books. I got this book a lot of times and sometimes I even write books of Baby Mouse.

My favorite book that I read this year is "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days" because I think it is very funny. I also liked how in the beginning, his summer was sad but in the end, it was happy. In the very beginning, he just sat at home playing video games but his mom forced him to go outside. I also like his older brother because he is mean to his younger brother, Greg. I also like his younger brother, mainly because he is very funny and cute. And his mom treats him like a baby. His best friend Rowley is really funny because he acts like a baby. And that's why I like "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days."

The best book I ever read is "Diary of a Wimpy Kid." It is very funny. It has a bunch of stuff in the pages. It has sketches in it. It talks about his friend Rowley, his brother, Rodrick and Manny and his mom and dad in the diary. It was the best book ever.

The best book I have read this year is "Ivy and Bean" cause it has good description. It also has fascinating stuff in it too. When I first saw the book, I thought it would be boring but when I started reading it, it was exciting. So if you like funny stuff, read "Ivy and Bean" books. They are really funny. You will like them a lot like I do.

"Look Mama it's a red ferry!" said Billy. I've read many books this year but my favorite book would have to be "Where the Red Fern Grows." I read it for my Excel class. It's about a boy named Billy who earned $40 to buy two hound dogs. It took 2 years. He and his dogs were the best hunters in town. I would recommend this book to everyone, even adults. It's a book that you could read over and over again.

My favorite book I read this year was called "My Life as a Toasted Time Traveler." My most favorite part in the story was when a boy named Sylvester from the past comes and warns the present Sylvester about a gopher hole he's going to get stuck in while trying to catch a ball, and both present and past ruined the future and sun lotion covers the Earth.

I think the best, and most certainly my favorite, book is "Artemis Fowl." It has that spark of excitement a book should have. It has characters like fairies and goblins. Artemis is a boy. His family is crazy. His dad is a criminal, and his mom, I think, is disillusioned and cuckoo. Of course, the second I said fairies you knew it was fiction, but I think fiction is just as good as non-fiction. I like to read. "Artemis Fowl" got me to read more since I liked the book. I'm really happy when I find a book I like. Reading can be fun if you put your mind to it.

My favorite book I read this year was "Witch of Blackbird Pond" by George Speare because it was an adventure of a girl with a strong heart and her adventure led her to a family and to love. Later on in the story, She meets an old woman named Hanna Tuper. She is a quaker who was branded and is a "witch" and so is Kit. Nat and her truly love each other, but Kit is marrying William.

Sad but cheerful, my favorite book that I have read is called "A Walk to Remember," by Nicholas Sparks. The book is about a girl who nobody likes and then later on she becomes popular. She soon had a boyfriend but found out that she has stomach cancer. Everybody makes fun of her because the popular kid likes her. She sometimes faints and then one time when she fainted her family got the news that she died. The book may make you cry or laugh but it is the best book that I have read this year, it is so good that I would read it over and over and over again until I can't read it anymore.

"Bunnicula" is a book made for people who love animals. I think it is a book of an adventure. It has several great parts. This book is a keeper. It is popular like "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" books but I chose "Bunnicula." You should read "Bunnicula" like me.

I've read lots of good books this year. "Black Beauty," "The Good Dog," and "The Witch of Blackbird Pond" were my favorites. I liked "Black Beauty" because in the beginning, it's all happy then it's all sad then it's all happy ... I think you get the idea. At the end, Black Beauty imagines himself in a field talking to Merrylegs and Ginger, his friends, but it's sad because Ginger dies. I liked "The Good Dog" because it was full of action and excitement but it's also sad at parts like when Lupin, the wolf, got shot and McKinley, Lupin's friend, and Aspen McKinley's, friend, tries to help her survive. I loved the "Witch of Black Bird Pond." Marina and I liked the love in the story and we loved it when Nat who was banned from Massachhusetts come back to save kit. By the way, Marina is my best friend. Anyway, that's my story, thanks for reading.

My favorite book this year was "Sign of the Beaver." It is about a boy whose parents went west to find better land and left him to guard the log house. When he is guarding it, he finds an Indian tribe called Sign of the Beaver. They go on amazing adventures and fight a bear. I liked the book because it was adventure packed and I loved the characters. I just think it is a great book.

My favorite book I've read this year is "Bunnicula." Bunnicula is scary, sad, cool and a little weird. But I like it because it's about a bunny, dog, cat and the Monroes. The cat thinks the bunny is a vampire. The dog, Harold, is just a dog that like cupcakes. It's really cool. One part's funny because the cat reads books and he's trying to kill the bunny. So he read the book and it says that to kill a vampire, you must stab a knife in the heart. He does it, but he stabs him with the wrong stake.
