The National Multiple Sclerosis Society (MS) celebrates World MS Day on Wednesday, May 26, to raise awareness about multiple sclerosis and garner support for H.R. 4213.

H.R. 4213, the American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act, would prevent a 21.2 percent cut to doctors participating in Medicare, increase rates for 2010 and 2011, prevent reductions to physicians through 2013 and assist state-run Medicaid programs.

More than 400,000 people in the United States live with multiple sclerosis, and 40 percent of them rely on public health insurance programs. H.R. 4213 would help ensure that patients retain access to treatment and services.

MS encourages e-mailing U.S. Senators and Representatives to urge their support for H.R. 4213.

MS is a nonprofit organization that helps fund research, education and programs for people affected with multiple sclerosis.
