Cadet Katheryn Lynn Taylor, daughter of Lt. Colonel Jack Taylor and Colonel Debra Taylor and granddaughter of Colonel Eugene and Audrey Taylor graduated May 22 from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York.

While at West Point, she majored in human geography and was awarded a B.S. degree. Taylor was commissioned as a second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army within the military intelligence branch.

She will join the First Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, Texas, for her first assignment.

Ranked as the "Top College in the Country" by Forbes magazine and "Top Public Liberal Arts College" by U.S. News & World Report, the U.S. Military Academy is a four-year co-educational federal undergraduate liberal arts college located 50 miles north of New York City.
It was founded in 1802 as the United State's first college of engineering.

Its mission remains constant - to educate, train and inspire the corps of cadets so each graduate is a commissioned leader of character committed to the values of duty, honor, country and prepared for a career of professional excellence and service to the United States as an officer in the United States Army.

Of added note Taylor was one of only five women on the 30-cadet Black Knights Parachute Team (both her parents and her grandfather were military parachutists) and her choice of military intelligence follows the branch assignments of both parents and grandfather.
