What: The American Cancer Society hosts the 12th annual Relay For Life fundraiser, which includes teams walking the field for 24 hours, live entertainment, food, games and contests.

Friendly Valley church service
What: Pastor Stan Fix of the Friendly Valley Community Church (United Methodist) presents “Wind, Fire and Dove.” All are welcome.

Children’s cancer fundraiser
What: Sweetwater Cafe hosts a funrdaiser to raise money to find a cure for children’s cancer. The event will feature food, a live band and children’s activities. Men, women and children will also shave their heads to show solidarity with kids fighting cancer.

What: The California Department of Transportation closes Highway 14 and Interstate 5 lanes, ramps and connectors as part of a $161-million improvement project to construct carpool lanes and a direct carpool lane connector at the I-5 and Highway 14 interchange.
