Coroner's officials today identified the woman who jumped to her death from the Whites Canyon bridge in Canyon Country.

She was 35-year-old Rebecca Lynn Annison of Canyon Country.

Annison lived with her brother and had a history of mental health issues, said Detective Eddie Brown of Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau.

Annison's brother was driving the pair down Via Princessa early Sunday evening. The brother then turned northbound on Whites Canyon Road traveling about 30 miles per hour before Annison tumbled from the vehicle, Brown said.

"She tells him that she has to ‘end this,' opened the door and jumped out while he was driving," Brown said.

Annison's brother then saw the woman head to the railing, climb the fence and go over the side of the bridge.

The drop from the bridge is about 200 feet, Brown said.

Other eyewitnesses confirmed that the death was a suicide, he said.
