Sheriff’s deputies are seeking a man who robbed Chi Chi’s Pizza on Sierra Highway at gunpoint, officials said Monday.

The suspect pointed a silver semi-automatic handgun and demanded money from an employee in the Canyon Country restaurant, said Lt. Brenda Cambra. He took off with an unknown amount of cash about 50 minutes after midnight on Sunday, she said.

The suspect is described as a black male age 20 to 26, weighing 150 to 160 pounds and standing 5-feet, 10-inches tall. He was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt and blue pants, Cambra said.

The man escaped out the back door of the restaurant and into a nearby wash. Officials set up a containment in the area but the suspect was not found, Cambra said.
