First place
My favorite book this year had to be “Something Upstairs” by Avi. I love this book because it left me guessing every chapter. The book is enhanced with cliff hangers and mystery. I could literally feel what the characters were feeling. It was really easy to understand and relate to even though none of us have gone through what the main character went through.
I highly recommend this book to everyone who likes a little mystery. Words can’t explain how much I would like other children to get an opportunity to read such a wonderful book. This book is so unique and different in all ways possible.
By the first chapter, it already made me want to read more and more. The author, Avi, has an incredible writing style. The story’s whole idea is so great. I would never ever be able to think of something like that. Read this book — I highly recommend it!

“Pugsley” is my favorite book because it is about a pug who tears up everything, like my dog at home. The story made me laugh because Pugsley is so naughty. The story made me happy in the end because Pugsley found a new home.

I like “Mouse Tales” because it’s like you’re going to sleep. It’s like bedtime stories, and it’s all about mice that wish they had a better life.

The best book I’ve read this year was “Bluestar’s Prophecy,” by Erin Hunter. It was a good book because it was exciting and helped you get a better view of the characters.
I love how there are many battles that all converge in the end. Also I like that it helps you understand how and why the characters turned evil, depressed or crazy. In conclusion, I thought it was a very good book and I recommend everyone to read it and other “Warriors” series books.

My all time favorite book is “The Battle of the Labyrinth.” This is the fourth installment of the Percy Jackson series. This book is perfectly paced with action and touches of romance. It is undeniably the best book in the series, with nail biting suspense. This book will leave you on the edge of your seat. Rick Riordan went all out with this book.

“P.J. Funnybunny camps out” is my favorite book. There is a raccoon, a bunny, a beaver and a pig. The pig packed the food, the beaver packed a flashlight and the raccoon packed sleeping bags. And the pig ate all the food!

My favorite book I read this year is called “N.E.R.D.S.” It’s about a boy who gets nanotechnology and braces, and has to join a team of super child spies. The question on everyone’s mind is “Will the kids save the world from the evil Dr. Jigsaw from a basement in their school?”

I believe that “Treasure Island” is the best book I have read. It was an amazing story, had outstanding imagery and everyone will love it. The author made it seem very real. So, if you haven’t read it, you should!

“Number the Stars” is one of the best books I have ever read because it has so much suspense. I love the end and the start of each chapter. The book is full of action in every chapter. Even the resolution has suspense you won’t find in every book.

My favorite book I have read this year was “Found,” by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It is a science fiction story that ropes you into its mysteriousness and keeps you guessing till the end. Jonah, an adopted 13-year-old, and a friend, Chip, go on a journey to find their real identity but they don’t realize that the real identity might be frightening. I highly recommend this book to any of the thrill seeking, adventurous readers who love the art of science fiction.

My favorite book is “Found.” I love this book because it is mysterious. A boy named Jonah starts getting letters that say “you are one of the missing” and “beware, they are coming.” First, he thinks it’s a prank until his friend Chip starts getting the letters too and they are the only ones. But something you need to know is that they were both adopted but Chip didn’t know he was.

My favorite book is “Boy of the Painted Cave.” I liked this book because it was well made and because it shows to always go after your dreams and to never back down. I think that boy is like me.

My favorite book I read is “Among the Hidden” by Margaret Peterson Haddix. I like this book because it has a lot of suspense and you don’t know what’s going to happen next. I loved that book so much that I could read it over and over again. Read it and you will like it! I convinced my friend to read it, and she loved it.

My favorite book is “Warriors: Fire and Ice” by Erin Hunter. It’s about different cat clans. The reason I like this book is because of the way it paints a vivid rainbow of imagination in my mind’s eye. The leader of the Shadow Clan is Night Peltan, an old tomcat. And the River Clan’s leader is Crooked Star. It is a wonderful book and I feel that people my age and up should read this book series.

“The Witches” by Roald Dahl is definitely the book for me. I like it because in this story Roald Dahl really describes what everyone looks like and exactly how everyone feels. This book is about a young boy who is learning about witches from his grandma and one day he runs into the most powerful of all, the Grand High Witch. I can’t tell you anymore, you’ll just find out the rest on your own.

I enjoy reading baseball books by Dan Gutman. The one I liked the best was “Babe & Me.” It is about a boy named Joe who has a magic power. He can travel through time with a baseball card. Joe has a Babe Ruth card so he traveled through time with it. After traveling through time, he ends up in New York in 1932 where Joe got to meet Babe Ruth!
When it was time for Babe to leave Chicago for Game 3 of the World Series on a train, he took Joe with him. When they get to Chicago, they get to the famous ballpark, Wrigley Field. Joe got to go into the dugout. Finally, it was the top of the fifth. The great Babe Ruth was up to bat. Then suddenly he hits his famous called-shot home run. The Yankees won the game because Babe Ruth hit the most famous home run in baseball history that day.

My favorite book is “Among the Hidden” because I have never heard about Shadow Children. I also like that the child found another Shadow Child that has to stay hidden for life. But I think it’s sad that all the other children died because they made a rally and all got shot.

My favorite book is “Homesick” by Jean Fritz because it has adventure, cliffhangers and suspense. Homesick is about a girl named Jean, who lives in China, but she wants to move to America so she can see where her ancestors came from and also, to meet her grandmother.
