Sixth annual SCV Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast
What: The sixth annual Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast will bring people of faith come together to pray for our government officials and our local leaders. In addition to breakfast, entertainment will be provided by a local music group, followed by special guest speakers including, Rick Green from Wallbuilders, Santa Clarita Mayor Laurene Weste and a keynote speaker. $25 advance registration, $30 at the door

Fifteenth annual Student Art Exhibition
What: The College of the Canyons Art Gallery hosts the 15th annual Student Art Exhibition, featuring an estimated 75 pieces of art created by students from the college’s art, graphics and multimedia design, photography and animation departments.
When: Through May 22, gallery is open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

How to bike to work Seminar
What: KC Butler from the California Bicycle Coalition holds an informative presentation on how to properly commute to work by bike. Representatives from the local bike club, Santa Clarita Velo, will also be present for questions.

What: The California Department of Transportation closes Highway 14 and Interstate 5 lanes, ramps and connectors as part of a $161-million improvement project to construct carpool lanes and a direct carpool lane connector at the I-5 and Highway 14 interchange.
