Prayers led by various faith leaders throughout the community will focus on general issues in Santa Clarita, California and the U.S., “believing as we pray, we can make a difference in these various areas,” said Associate Pastor Gary Howse of Church on the Way.
Topics of prayer during the hour-and-a-half-long, nondenominational event will include jobs and the economy, healthcare, education, law enforcement, national leaders and more, Howse said.
“We’re not trying to pray in a certain way to sway anyone toward a particular course of action,” he said.
Howse said an expected 500 to 600 people representing diverse congregations are expected to attend.
“We make more of an impact in the community if we lay down our sectarian differences,” he said. “The bigger good is the fact that we came together.”
