VIA luncheon to discuss manufacturing

Jack Stewart, president of the California Manufacturing & Technology Association will be the keynote speaker at the Valley Industrial Association’s monthly meeting on Tuesday. The luncheon is set to begin at 11:30 a.m. and will takes place at the Hyatt Valencia, located at 24500 Town Center Drive.

The association works to improve and enhance a strong business climate fore California’s 30,000 manufacturing, processing and technology-based companies. Stewart will discuss top issues addressed by the CMTA, including career/tech education and providing sufficient workforce for California’s economy.

The luncheon will also feature representatives from the Michael Hoefflin Foundation, who will discuss “An Evening Under the Stars,” a fundraiser scheduled for Sept. 6.

The business luncheon is open to the public. The cost is $40 for VIA members and $50 for nonmembers. Reservations for the July 15 luncheon should be received this week and can be made by calling (661) 294-8088 or by visiting

Valencia’s B & B Manufacturing hosts job fair

B & B Manufacturing, a Valencia-based provider of machined components, sub-assemblies and contract manufacturing services, will host a job fair on Tuesday at its company offices. One session, which will include lunch, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Another session will take place from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. with refreshments. Information booths will be set up in the company’s learning center and tours of the facility will be provided, along with on-the-spot interviews.
