The seventh annual Summer Meltdown Concert for Social Inclusion and Autism Awareness rocks Golden Valley High School's outdoor amphitheater from noon to 10 p.m. Two stages this year. Center's hotline needs volunteers
The Domestic Violence Center of the Santa Clarita Valley is seeking volunteers to help answer the 24-hour hotline that provides emergency help for domestic violence related callers. Volunteers will need to complete a special 40-hour training course in order to answer the local hotline. The Santa Clarita Valley Domestic Violence Center is the only one of its kind in the region, providing a 24-hour hotline, a local shelter house, individual and group counseling services as well as emergency help for victims of domestic violence. Dates for the complete 40-hour training at Haven Hills are: June 13,16,20,30 and July 7,11,14,18. Volunteers would need to attend each of the eight training dates. Battle of the Rides at Saugus Speedway
Battle of the Rides, to benefit LETMESAIL, Inc. will be held 4-10 p.m. Saturday, June 26 at Saugus Speedway in Santa Clarita. Battle of the Rides will showcase more than 200 unique radical custom cars, motorcycles and exotic street machines, which will compete for trophies in nine separate categories, to be voted on by a panel of expert judges. In addition, there will be a People's Choice Award. Live entertainment, food and car and motorcycle accessory displays and many other interactive activities.
