Burned body still unidentified
A man who was found dead and burned on Briggs Road near Agua Dulce Canyon Road in Agua Dulce is still listed by the county Coroner's Office as John Doe. The coroner's office is unsure when the remains will be identified; investigators are trying to use dental records to positively identify the man.

The body was found near a Pontiac van on July 1, after it reportedly burst into flames. Officials were unable to determine the cause of the fire. The matter is still under investigation.

Five-acre fire burns near Elizabeth Lake
Approximately five acres of brush burned in Leona Valley near Elizabeth Lake on Tuesday afternoon, a county Fire Department spokesman said.

Shortly after 4 p.m., the blaze was 75 percent contained and burning along a ridge, according to the Fire Department.

The Ridge Fire, as it was called, reportedly forced road closures of Elizabeth Lake Road at San Francisquito and Bouquet canyon roads.

There were no reported injuries or structure damage.
