UPDATED: Bogus bomb threat prompts evacuation at Providence/Facey

UPDATE, 1 p.m.
The Providence/Facey medical building at McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard was evacuated this morning after a bomb threat was phoned into the building, a sheriff's official said.

A Facey employee received a call from a man with a slight Middle Eastern accent and was told to leave the building if she didn't want to get hurt, but he didn't say how or why.

Deputies searched the building for nearly two hours but found no bomb.

UPDATE, 11:45 a.m.
The building has been evacuated and deputies are searching for any explosive device.

The Providence Holy Cross medical building at the intersection of McBean Parkway and Valencia Boulevard is being evacuated after a bomb threat was phoned into the building, a sheriff's official said.

The call came in shortly before 10 a.m., according to Sgt. Gary Parker of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station, and the medical building is being evacuated while an investigation is underway.

Numerous sheriff's and fire officials are on scene.

No further information was immediately available.
