An off-duty sheriff's deputy died late Wednesday in Valencia after his motorcycle clipped another vehicle and crashed into the median, sheriff's officials said early today.

About 6:25 p.m. on Wednesday, Deputy Cameron Glover, 27, a four-year member of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, was riding his motorcycle northbound on McBean Parkway near Granary Square when he and a car collided. He lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into the median, a Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station report said.

Glover later died at a local hospital.

Glover graduated from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Academy on Jan. 19, 2007, a member of Class No. 354. He had worked in the Santa Clarita Valley for about two years.

Glover is survived by his wife, brother, mother and father.

The driver of the other car was not injured, the report said.

Sheriff's officials ask any witnesses to the crash who have not been interviewed to call traffic detectives at (661) 799-5112.

No information on services is available yet, according to an e-mail from Sgt. Darren Harris of the SCV Sheriff's Station.

Harris said Glover's colleagues have set up a "Memorial Fund for Deputy Camerron Glover" with the Bank of Santa Clarita.

"Any donor can go directly into any Bank of Santa Clarita location and make a check payable to the fund, or drop a check off at the (SCV Sheriff's) station," Harris said.

The bank has three offices in Santa Clarita: 27441 Tourney Road, suite 100, Valencia 91355; 21021 Soledad Canyon Road,
suite 104, Canyon Country 91351; and 19045 Golden Valley Road, suite 115, Santa Clarita 91321.

The SCV Sheriff's Station is located on Magic Mountain Parkway just west of Valencia Boulevard in Valencia 91355.
