First place
I read the book Toy Dance Party (being the further adventures of a bossyboots stingray, a courageous buffalo, & a hopeful round someone called Plastic) by Emily Jenkins, with pictures by Paul Zelinsky. This story was about toys that had a dance party when the girl was away. When the toys saw a toy shark, they were afraid of it so they ran down to the basement. They were afraid of the darkness in the basement but Frank the washing machine sang songs for them.
One song said, "Sting ray, fling-ray, what a special thing-ray!" I liked the rhyming and the song also made me want to dance too. Sometimes, I sing this song on the weekends because it is a good song. I liked the sting ray the best because she is blue, and blue is also my favorite color. Everyone should read the book because there is a lot of dancing and singing in it, like real life.

My favorite book was Fancy Nancy and the Posh Puppy by Jane O'Connor. I like it because it has cute dogs and because Nancy is so fancy. I love her pretty clothes and shoes. I like the end of the book when she gets her own dog.

Personally, I really love The BFG. It has so many descriptive words and it has action, funny parts, and it pulls you into another world. I like books that I can't put down, and The BFG is one of them. If you haven't read The BFG I'd like to encourage you to enter the wonderful, exciting world of giants.

My most favorite book I ever read was Extra Credit. I liked it because I actually learned something. It was about a girl named Abby and she had a pen pal. She had to do that writing because she was going to be held back in 6th grade. I heard of the country Afghanistan for the first time in the book. The thing I learned was that the people in Afghanistan have lots of mountains around them. It was one of the greatest books I had ever read. I definitely could read it over and over again!

My favorite book is A to Z Mysteries, The Deadly Dungeon, by Ron Roy. I like this book because it was cool when Dink, Josh and Ruth Rose had an adventure in the dungeon. Next, I thought it was funny that Dink and Josh had to take off their pants to make bird cages float. I also liked it because they found the clues in different places. I really like going to the library and checking out A to Z Mysteries books.

My favorite book that I have read this year is The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo. I like it because it was an interesting tale about a china rabbit named Edward Tulane who goes on a trip on a boat with his owner. Abilene and gets tossed over the edge by two mean boys. Edward has many different owners who renamed him many different names. At the end, he is at a doll shop and Abilene's daughter chooses Edward to be hers. Edward gets to be with his owner again! Thank you for reading about my favorite book.

I love to read Box Car Children because it has an adventure in every book and even in every chapter. Reading Box Car Children makes you look at kids in a different way. It is fun to read about their life and family.

The best books I've read this year are the Little House series by Laura Ingalls Wilder. I have read Little House in the Big Woods, and half of Little House on the Prairie. The books tell the story of Laura Ingalls Wilder's life. She was a pioneer girl who was born in Wisconsin in 1867. She wrote the books to tell what life was like for a girl who was a pioneer and moved across America in a covered wagon. I like how sometimes Pa takes out his fiddle and plays a song for Laura, her sister Mary, and Ma. Even though, these books are old (I am reading my moms copies from when she was a little girl) they are very interesting because I get to learn what life was like for a girl my age almost 150 years ago.

My favorite book is Stink and the Great Guinea Pig Express. It is a book about how three kids help find some guinea pigs a home because the pet store is closing and they have 101 guinea pigs left in the store. The kids make a van into a pet store on wheels. At the end, they sold all the guinea pigs!
