Seventy-nine young people who lost their lives in traffic-related collisions were remembered Wednesday evening at the fourth annual Evening of Remembrance.

The city-sponsored event at the Youth Grove in Central Park is held before local prom nights and graduations to remind teens to drive responsibly.

The half-acre grove features individual pillars that mimic cut tree stumps, each representing a young life cut short on the road.
