Vehicle fire halts I-5 traffic for nearly 2 hours

California Highway Patrol on Sunday shut down southbound-lanes of Interstate 5 after a vehicle caught fire, said Sgt. Mike Brown. Officers halted all southbound traffic at about 1:30 p.m. Sunday as Los Angeles County firefighters extinguished the flames, which had briefly spread to nearby brush, Brown said. Freeway lanes were completely opened by 3:10 p.m. No one was injured, Brown said.
