A lack of priorities

Phoebe Prince, a 15-year-old Massachusetts high-school student, was threatened and bullied to the point of suicide on Jan. 14.

The Associated Press reported that in spite of Prince going to school administrators about verbal and physical threats, and in spite of reports to the same hierarchy by two teachers who witnessed threats, nothing was done to protect Prince.

She hung herself at home. There is also a post-script to the story: She had reportedly been a victim of statutory rape by two different no-goods.

Along with these two tragic stories, we read The Signal's letters and articles on the "tragedy" of local eighth-graders not getting a graduation ceremony this year.

Is anyone embarrassed yet about the colossal lack of priorities?
