Santa Clarita Rotary to host fundraiser for Domestic Violence Center May 1

Second annual mash-up of Hawaiian and Cajun-Creole food and fun

The Rotary Club of Santa Clarita will host its second annual "luau and fundraiser, Cajun-Creole style" on Saturday, May 1 at 6 p.m. at the Sand Canyon Estate.

A $50 ticket will include dining, a live band, entertainment, dancing, and a silent and live auction, featuring Maui and Big Island condos, orthodontic braces, and more. 

Proceeds from the Luau will benefit the Domestic Violence Center of Santa Clarita Valley.

Listed on the menu is pork or chicken jambalaya, fish or shrimp gumbo, black-eyed peas, a 200-pound rotisserie pig and Louisiana crawfish.

Entertainment for the event includes the world-famous Rotary Polynesian Dancers and Rotary Zydeco Band featuring swamp music, Zydeco, Creedence Clearwater Revival and Hank Williams.

Chuck Sturkey of LARC Ranch will emcee and perform southern blues numbers on guitar.
