Drew Weaver won Valencia Toastmasters Club #1670's annual speech contest on March 10, then went on to win the area contest held on March 13, as well as the division contest held April 10.

Weaver, armed with his award-winning speech entitled "Love Can Move Mountains," sets his sights on the upcoming Toastmasters International District 52 Conference to be held in Glendale on May 21 and 22.

Valencia Toastmasters is one of more than 11,700 Toastmasters Clubs around the world.

Each spring, approximately 50,000 members compete in club-level speech contests. Through competition in the area, division, district and regional levels, 10 contestants will vie for the title of World Champion of Public Speaking, which will climax at the organization's 79th Annual International Convention, Aug. 11-14 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa in Palm Desert, Calif.

Guests are welcome to use the proven successful Toastmasters system to improve their public speaking, communication and leadership skills. More than four million people have honed their communication and leadership skills with the help of Toastmasters.

Valencia Toastmasters Club #1670 meets every second and fourth Wednesday evening at the La Quinta Inn, 25201 The Old Road. Santa Clarita 91381.
